A seaside wedding

When we were in Lyme Regis Steve found an empty barbers and asked if I would mind if he went for a hair cut. I said of course not and that I would have a potter nearby.

I was outside the local church, on the seafront, when a wedding party bubbled outside; a froth of lace, laughter and photos.

The bride wore a fifties style ivory lace dress similar to this one......

I watched and pondered; how exciting a wedding is, setting off together into a life unknown upon a promise of love.

I met up with a very handsome post haircut husband and we meandered along the sea edge. And then the wedding party approached for pre-dinner drinks in the seaside beach huts bedecked with bunting ....

And then, as the rain began to fall, they went to the restaurant above; floating on a cloud of ivory lace, love  and laughter.

And I smiled; silently wishing them well.

In Serendip I bought a Sally Anderson greetings card. I bought a white frame from The Range and now this pic is on my bedside shelf.

I like something lovely to look at as I rest :)

This pic makes me very happy.

Sorry you can see my reflection in the glass - but you get the idea!

Yarn bombing in Surbiton :)

During our visit to London we stayed out of town (avoiding having to drive in Central London!) Surbiton seemed a good idea - near to Kew for our final day when we would have to drive and close to the motorway southwards for Dorset.

I liked Surbiton especially when I saw that the mini roundabout had been yarn-bombed!

There is a fab shop in Lyme Regis called Serendip.

When we are staying in Calamity Jane we always go to Lyme as it has a really yummy Indian place where we can get take-away.

We are forming traditions on our caravan trips - lol!

One such tradition  is a visit to Serendip whilst waiting for the Indian restaurant to open (then reading the local paper in the pub whilst waiting for the food to be cooked!!!!! )

Serendip is a bookshop which sells fab greetings cards and bits and bobs. We always stock up on cards.
And this time I bought a garden sign.......

Placed beneath the kitchen window, it makes me smile as I do the washing up :)

A new blogger on the block

I count myself very fortunate to have found a smashing friend called Beth.

She makes me laugh.

She asked me to help her set up a blog (blind leading the blind; methinks).

But we have persevered and had a lovely time.

You can visit her here and say hello.

I am having trouble setting up a profile for her. Blogger has changed a lot recently. If you have any tips you could leave them here - we are meeting again for another lesson at the end of the week.

TTFN,
